Abortion Mill- Wednesday, July 31, 2013

Abortion mill ministry was relatively uneventful today, if you can call standing outside of such an evil place for 2 1/2 hours "uneventful". The clinic that we minister at every week hires "security" guards to sit outside and watch us (because we're just SO dangerous and angry). Their job is basically to intimidate us, blast vile music from their cars to drown out the preaching, and make sure that we don't step onto their property. There was a new man there today, working by himself. Pray for him!

The parking lot was VERY full for a Wednesday. I normally count how many cars come in; it slipped my mind today, but there were many more than usual. A group of people who normally go to a different clinic to minister showed up today, which was nice, because the men in the group preached on our sound system. Normally me, my family and two other women are the only people defending these babies on Wednesdays!

We of course had the typical middle fingers, mocking laughter and angry shouting- one teenaged boy actually threatened to "come down there" and punch every one of us in the face. You kind of get used to that. But one baby was spared! We found out from another counselor that a girl changed her mind after we had gone home. She came outside, all smiles, and told him that she chose LIFE! This is what it's all about, people. Praise Jesus!!

My sweet baby brother was with us on the sidewalks this morning!

Abortion Clinics: What We Do

Many people, some Christians included, think of pro-life "activists" or "protestors" as screaming, judgemental, hateful, clinic-bombing maniacs. That is a blanket statement, and I can pretty much guarantee that the vast majority of us do what we do in a loving and God-honoring manner.  We seek to do justice, love kindness, and to walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8), to expose the unfruitful works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11), to rescue those being taken away to death, and to hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. (Proverbs 24:11) We give abortion-minded mothers and fathers the truth, and sometimes the truth HURTS. Does that mean we are hateful or condemning? Of course not! We give them the truth in love.

We use a sound system to preach the gospel and reach out to men and women, so that they can hear us even from inside the building. This way we don't have to yell to be heard. Women have come out of this clinic and told us that they were in the back, laying on the table when they decided that they couldn't go through with the murder of their child. Why? Because they could hear simple, gentle Christians pleading with them to have mercy on their precious babies!

We also hold signs, and some of them are graphic, as you can see. Most women will turn their heads, hide their faces from us, or get very angry when they see these; that is because they don't want to see what they already know deep down is the reality of their "choice". BUT, women have also told us that they chose life solely because of these pictures. It isn't that we enjoy these sanguinary images; we hate to look at them. But they are simply another way of exposing evil, and have helped save many lives!

Adults and teenagers/older children attempt to stop cars. No, we don't run up to people's cars, screaming and pounding on their windows. We offer them pro-life literature and if they stop to take it, we attempt to counsel them.

And last but not least, we are a people of prayer. We spend much of our time at these places of death praying for the mothers and fathers; that their hearts would be softened towards their children and that their eyes would be opened to the truth; that they would let their children live, and flee from this wicked place!

1,721 babies have been spared from abortion here in Charlotte since October of 2008, simply because a few dozen Christians have obeyed God's command to love their neighbor! But pro-life missionaries are still desperately needed all over the country; take a leap of faith, and GO! The Lord will use you in ways and for things you never thought possible.
