Diversity

Several weeks ago, a friend of mine made an excellent point.  Marie was visiting from Norway, and came out to minister at the abortion clinic with us while she was in America.  One morning as we were standing together on the sidewalk, she turned to me and said "You know what?  It's sad how this culture is always talking about "being diverse" and "different", but they want to abort anyone who has special needs.  Where's the diversity in that?"  Wow.  She's right.

What is diversity really about?  A white arm, a brown arm?  Flip-flops or heels?  Baptist, Lutheran, or Presbyterian?  Trucks or minivans?  In a way we're all unique.  Our shapes, sizes, thoughts, language, styles-our DNA.  We live our own lives, similar, but different.  We're all humans though, made in the image of God, by God, for God.  And yes, that does include people with mental disorders, down syndrome, missing eyes, or autism.  Right now, with all of us living on the planet, the world is diverse.  It was made that way by God.  It's good that we have variety.  But when we take control and decide who can be included and who cannot, then we spoil the diversity that God created .  Ninety percent of babies that have Down Syndrome are aborted.  I am not sure what the exact percentage is of other disabled children that are aborted, but I know that it is a lot.  Babies with special needs are targeted for abortion, big time. Because of this, we're losing a major contributing people group to our diversity.

During WWII, Hitler was not only on a mission to kill the Jews.  He wanted "perfect" people, and he did not deem the disabled to make the cut.  We are horrified to think that he starved, gassed, shot, and buried these people alive for the one reason-that they were special needs.  But when we're told that thousands of babies are starved, poisoned, crushed, vacuumed and cut apart for the same reason, or any reason, we don't have the reaction that we should.  The Nazi Holocaust may be over, but the Modern Day Holocaust of abortion is not.  What will you choose to do about it?

Saved by Heroin

Several weeks ago, when we were coming back from Raleigh, a man stopped me.  I was carrying a graphic sign of Malachi, a child aborted at 21 weeks.  Normally, if people come up to you when you are holding a sign like this, they curse you out, or tell you that you're horrible, or things similar to that.  So I was expecting this response as he approached.  But when he came up to me, he said, (while pointing at Malachi) "My mom wanted to do that to me.  She wanted to abort me." He went on to tell me that he was alive because his dad was a drug addict.  He said that if his father had not spent the money on heroin, he would not be alive today.  Wow.

I was reflecting on this the other night, and I started thinking about the hundreds, thousands, millions-of people who couldn't walk up to someone and say that they had been saved because of ____ and you fill in the blank.  How many have lost this ability of speech because they had been killed?  How many will lose this chance tomorrow?  The next day?  Next week, month, year?  And how many will die for the one reason that we aren't doing anything about abortion?  How many babies destroyed because we wouldn't get up and offer true love, and hope and help through the gospel of Jesus Christ?  I have heard many women say "if someone had told me not to, then I would not have killed my baby" "If someone had stood outside this clinic then I would not have killed my baby".

Do we really care?  Be honest.  Does it really matter to us whether the abortion holocaust continues or not?  Maybe in the back of our minds it matters in the long run, but we don't really care enough to do something about it now.  We sit at home, checking our email, feeding our kids, and going to our churches.  We think, and pray on the subject sometimes, but we do not really care.  We don't care enough.  It matters to God-it should matter to us!  God cares for us, why should we not care for our neighbor?  This neighbor-our unseen neighbor (unless on an ultrasound screen) is in desperate need of assistance-in desperate need of care.  She/he needs our voices to speak, our hand and feet to act, our hearts to love.  It does not matter if we think we are equipped enough or not.  If God can use heroin, God can use us.

What Abortion Really Does for Men and Women

We encounter abortion-minded men and women every week, and the majority of the time they believe that abortion will solve their  problems...that if they can just get the "procedure" over with, everything will be okay and that life will go back to normal. Whether they can't afford a baby, they think they're too young to be mothers and fathers, or any other reason you can think of, they think that abortion is going to fix all of that; when really, abortion just creates more problems. When a woman murders her child there will be regret, shame and/or depression somewhere down the road, and for some women these problems occur immediately; for others, it can take years.

"After the abortion, the absolute finality of death hit with astounding power. That baby, that child, was gone forever, and there was nothing-absolutely nothing- I could do to recall my decision." - David, father of an aborted child.

"The moment I had my abortion I knew, I knew that I would forever be a damaged individual. That no matter how hard I tried, no matter what I did, whatever I sacrificed, I could never bring my baby back. I could never undo the things I did that day." -Sandee

"After my abortion, babies in general held a new meaning to me. I'd stare at the mothers I'd see holding babies intensely and imagine having and holding the baby I had lost. I would frequently try to "guess" what my baby would have looked like, what she would have been like, felt like." -Colleen

I could go on and on with these testimonies...sadly, there are millions. Does it sound like these people's problems were solved? Does it sound like murdering their babies made everything okay? No, it does not.

Women have fought hard for the right to do what they want with "their" bodies, believing that having the right to slaughter their unborn children whom they refer to as "blobs of tissue" was going to be an empowering and liberating prerogative. In reality all they have done is commit 55,000,000 murders since 1973, and that unfathomable number is ticking higher and higher with every passing minute. A third of our nation's women have become murderers through the sin of abortion, which means  you more than likely know at least one woman who has aborted her baby. It could be your teacher, your neighbor, your mother, a woman in your church...or it could be you. If you are a man or woman suffering from an abortion, there is hope and forgiveness in Jesus Christ, and we want to help you find that! Email us; we will help you and pray for you.

Aaron Women's Clinic & Abortionist Douglas Karpen

The website for Aaron Women's Clinic in Houston, Texas has a slideshow of pretty pictures on it's homepage, along with white and yellow flowers and things like "It's all about you," and "Every woman deserves world class care" scrawled across the screen.

But this place is far from the pretty and peaceful all-about-helping-women environment they are trying to portray. Any supposed health facility that offers abortion -the murder of children- is a place of evil and death and darkness; but disturbing and down-right frightening details have recently emerged in regards to Aaron Women's Clinic and the illegal things that have been taking place there for years.

Aaron Women's Clinic

The abortionist that practices at this clinic is Douglas Allan Karpen. On May 13, 1988, Karpen performed an abortion on 15 year old Denise Montoya, when she was 25 1/2 weeks pregnant. Complications immediately developed after the procedure and Denise was taken to the hospital, where she eventually died of complications both directly and indirectly related to the abortion.

A medical malpractice lawsuit was filed against Douglas Karpen and Richard Cunningham, on behalf of one of their patients, Nicolette Cormier. The abortionists refused to cease the patient's third trimester abortion, even after she decided she no longer wanted to go through with it. Cormier ended up in the hospital where she delivered a premature infant weighing in at 1 lb, 13 oz. The baby later died, despite intensive medical care.

I also found a 911 transcript from 2005, describing aborted babies in a sewage spill at Karpen's clinic. Here are some specific parts of the transcript:

Caller: I have an inspector out at a medical waste scene and this is beyond our capability. He's found human body parts...

Dispatcher: O.K.

Caller: and fetuses. Can you send a police officer out here?

(.....)

Dispatcher: O.K., and what office are you with?

Caller: Health dept.

Health dept...and we can handle normal medical waste, but this is beyond us. He says he can see fetuses and fingers and everything.

-----------------------------------------------

And we haven't even gotten to the worst of it.

Three of Karpen's former employees have come forward to tell of the horrid things they witnessed and took part in during their time at Aaron Women's Clinic. One woman, Deborah Edge, worked at the clinic for roughly 15 years before leaving in March of 2011. She testified to seeing 3 or 4 babies born alive every day at Karpen's clinic, and explained in detail the different methods he used to kill those babies.

She claimed that he would sever the spinal cord of a baby born alive, or insert a surgical instrument into the soft spot of the baby's skull. Sometimes he would deliver the babies feet first, and their little toes would wiggle, until he would stab the baby with a surgical instrument. Their toes would suddenly flare out in pain, and then go limp. Other times he would twist the baby's head completely off their neck with his bare hands.

If the baby was oversize, Karpen would have to rip the baby apart piece by piece. "Sometimes he couldn't get the fetus out. He would yank pieces, piece by piece, when they were oversize. And I'm talking about the whole floor dirty. I'm talking about me drenched in blood."

Now think back to the beginning of this post. Does this sound like they care about women having "world class care"? Does this really sound like it is about women at all? Or does this sound like it's about murder, and money, and greed?

And just like with the Gosnell case, the media is silent; but even worse than that, Christians are silent! There are over 2,000 churches in Houston, and there is not a single Christian ministering at this clinic and defending those babies. Just the thought of all of those babies, late term or not, being taken there to be murdered with nobody to help them makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm sure the things described above are disturbing to you-as they should be. May your disturbance stir you to action on behalf of the unborn, and preparation for the spiritual battle that is pro-life ministry!

"Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle-my loving kindness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me." ~ Psalm 144:1

The Abortion Holocaust

When you hear the word "Holocaust", abortion is more than likely not what surfaces in your mind. You probably think of the mass murder of millions of Jews, concentration camps, and what have you.

The Holocaust was a terrible, wicked thing, and we are not aiming to somehow minimize the horror of what took place during that time. But we are aiming to bring to light the fact that there is another Holocaust taking place today-the Abortion Holocaust.

I'm sure there are some of you that would say abortion can't be compared to the Holocaust, so here are a few things to consider-

6,000,000 Jews were murdered from 1941-1945. 57,000,000 unborn children have been murdered since abortion became legal in 1973.

The Jews were deemed "inferior" and "sub-human". Many pro-choice people today claim that the unborn child is not a human being, but a "clump of cells", or a "piece of flesh". Some will even admit that it is a child in the womb, but still support, glorify and celebrate abortion. They call it a woman's right or a woman's choice, placing the value of the mother's life over that of her baby's-therefore believing that an unborn human being is "inferior" to their mother.

The majority of Christians remained silent, stood by, and did nothing to bring an end to the Holocaust. And today, the majority of Christians remain silent, stand by, and do nothing to stop the murder of the unborn.

God's heart was grieved over the murder of the Jews. But God's heart is also grieved today over the slaughter of every unborn child made in His image.

Millions murdered, millions dehumanized, and millions ignored by the church. God was not pleased then, and he is most certainly not pleased now. Do you not think that the murder of His children-the children that He created, that He knew He would create before time existed, that He loves-grieves Him?  Do you not think that this constant murdering, this slaughter, stirs up His wrath?

If not, think again.

There is a good chance that you are offended by the gory picture above...so here's another comparison. The American liberators made sure that German civilians were forced to confront the horrors of the concentration camps. They were made to look at the piles of emaciated bodies...American soldiers even made some dig up the bodies of 800 Jews, and then bury them in individual graves. The terrible things that went on in these camps were exposed, and the German civilians were confronted with the reality of what they had allowed to take place. Abortion needs to be exposed, and people need to be confronted with this reality as well. The fact that this picture offends you should speak volumes.

Oh,and let's not forget...everything Hitler did in Germany was legal.

What Would It Hurt?

To be honest, I really don’t remember much about what happened that very first time I went out to the abortion mill.  My memories from that day are all blurred together into the sentence “I cannot believe this is actually happening!” Since that day, abortion has no longer been just a word for me,it has been a reality.  For me though, since that day abortion has no longer just been a word, it has been a reality.
If you have ever felt an icky feeling being around someone or someplace that wasn’t good, multiply it by 100.  I remember just feeling, amazed at how heavy, how wicked, how strong! the presence of Satan was out there.  It was a presence of death. Lots of death.  I remember that sick feeling I felt when I watched woman after woman walk into that place.  The blaring gangster rap that played loudly as the babies were dying, like some type of freak funeral song.  There were enough innocent lives ended that day to outnumber us Christians out on the sidewalk.
From that day forward I saw a contrast between light and dark like I had never seen before.  There was no mistaking in my mind who was King and who was serpent.  God was showing himself as good, and righteous, and holy, and the devil was showing himself as a lying, thieving, murderous destroyer.  I had heard “spiritual warfare” but I’m telling you I was in it.  I felt the power of Jesus and I felt Satan.  I was in this spiritual battle fighting for the lives of these babies, and the souls of these people.
The first time I went out to an abortion mill was a time that changed my life.  There was clearly one thing I needed to do-something! Proverbs 31:8-9 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.  Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.   Where is your armor?  Are you prepared to speak up for these who cannot speak for themselves?  For their rights?  They are poor, needy and defenseless.  Are you ready to defend them?  I am.
~Theresa

It was a bitter cold Saturday morning in January of last year, when I stood outside of an abortion clinic for the first time. I prefer to not even call that place of death a "clinic"...we'll call it a mill.

All I could do was stand there on the sidewalk, watching in complete and total shock as car, after car, after car whipped into the parking lot. I've heard many people say it's like a fast food drive-thru. Constant coming and going...women going in,killing their children, coming out drugged up and stumbling to their cars, then leaving as more are coming in. Some were angry, some mocked, some ran inside trying to somehow hide their faces, and others cried as they avoided looking in our direction.

As a man who was talking on the mic explained what happens during an abortion,my throat felt tight and my mind was reeling. Knowing the details somehow made it even more horrifying. I listened with tears in my eyes as he told these women that their baby's arms and legs would be ripped off, their bodies torn to pieces and their skulls crushed. The words overwhelmed, grieved, and distressed don't even begin to explain the way being at this place of darkness makes you feel. You can feel the distinction between the dark and the light, the good and the evil. I am at a loss for words that can fully describe the weight of it all.

A very young couple pulled into the parking lot, parked, and got out of their car. The boy didn't even look old enough to be driving, his girlfriend even younger. They walked silently inside,no emotion whatsoever on their faces, refusing to look at or even acknowledge us. I'm really not sure why that sticks out in my memory the way it does...maybe because she was just so young.

Not long after this,a counselor stopped a car in the road. A teenage girl was in the backseat, looking around with wide,fear-filled eyes. Her mother was in the drivers seat, and as soon as the counselor started to speak, she kept driving. As they walked towards the mill, the mother was going as fast as she could, but her daughter was barely moving. I could see her resting her hands on a very small baby-bump underneath her sweater. She suddenly froze on the sidewalk, and called to her mother, her voice shaking, "Mom...mom! Mom!",still cradling her belly. Several more counselors began calling out to her from the sidewalk, telling her she didn't have to do it. Her mother opened the door, pointed inside, and snapped "Now!". The girl kept going and stared miserably over her shoulder at us until the doors closed.

It is a horrible thing to see...men and women killing their kids, some with a chuckle on their lips as they mock God and skip-yes,skip- inside. Some don't want to do it,but feel that they have to,others will look you right in the eye and say,"I know it's a baby, and I'm going in there to kill it!",and some are being pressured. No matter what their attitude is towards the situation,it's not pleasant to watch. But as Christians,it is our responsibility to "rescue those being taken away to death" and to "hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter" (Proverbs 24:11). Over the past year I have seen so,so many women go into that dreadful place, and it hasn't gotten any easier...it's not fun, comfortable or enjoyable, but Christians are not called to be comfortable! The church needs to take responsibility for their inaction over the past 40 years of legalized abortion, and if your are a part of the church of Jesus Christ, that means you!

I've tried my best to give you a mental picture of what this place is like, but you can't really know until you've been.
If you are a Christian and have never ministered at an abortion mill,I strongly encourage you to go at least once...it will open your eyes.

What would it hurt?
