Abortion Myth #5

"It's not a big deal."

Is it possible abortion is not a big deal after all?  Is it possible that it's only an outpatient surgery, no worries or memories? Is there a chance it's not as serious as we thought, that you can still laugh, have fun, and carry on with your lives even though you've had an abortion? Lets see.

You would consider being born a big deal right? Of course! You breath air for the first time, you see your mom and dad, you can actually be held by your grandparents; it's the beginning of your life outside the womb, to continue growing into a child, and an adult.

I think most of you would say the first time you rode your bike without training wheels was a big deal. It marked a milestone of your growing up.  A new skill that made you feel proud.  Yes, you fell off a few times but you did it!

When people get married they throw a party, get a marriage certificate, go on a honeymoon etc.  They do it because it's a big deal.  They have found the love of their life and want to make the day they get married something special!

There are many other "big deals" that happen in one's life. Graduating, having children, maybe your best friend-all things you don't easily forget.  When someone pays to have their children killed they can try and pretend that it is not a big deal, but it is.  It is a big deal to murder, and especially to murder your own babies. it's not just a huge event in the life of the parent, it's extremely substantial for the baby.  Think about it!  Getting torn limb by limb or poisoned to death is the biggest deal of their very short-lived life. And being butchered wasn't just a big deal, it was their only big deal.  And not a pleasant or happy one at that!

Even though it's possible to believe that it's not a big deal to us, it's a big deal to God.  After all, He made these children, who were so mercilessly torn apart. And He made these parents, who committed the horrible act of murder. And He made all of us, who are saying "it's not a big deal" to one of the biggest deals of all time.  In Matthew 10: 29-30 Jesus states that He knows when a sparrow falls, and that all of the hairs on our heads are numbered.  If those minute details are such a big deal that He would take notice of them, how His heart must grieve over the millions of lives extinguished in this modern day holocaust!

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall to the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. ~ Matthew 10: 29-31

  2. For many women this is a very big deal they will remember it for the rest if their lives and this can effect all other aspects of their lives: marriage, relationships, even the birth of their other children (if they are still able to have children after the abortion.) Many women that have had abortions can remember all the details about it they can remember what kind of abortion it was, where they had the abortion, maybe even what the nurse looked like. This does not go away from them! That is why it is so important to try and help these women, they are about to make the worst decision of their lives and we must try to make them see that, and be willing to help them once they know the truth.
